72 c10 pinion yoke u joint strap?

72 chevy c10 307 465 coil spring rear
It's a 12 bolt rear. Two piece drive drive shaft. Using a 280 u joint

Trying to find pinion u joint retaining STRAP
NOT U BOLT TYPE.

I'm looking for a part number for the correct u joint retaining strap, referred to as a " u joint repair kit".

Anybody have a auto parts stores or moog part number

All auto parts stores seem to show a u bolt style retainer rather than the strap style that my truck has.

Thank you

Re: 72 c10 pinion yoke u joint strap?

Should be able to get a strap kit at any parts store. A 280 joint is a 1310 style u-joint. Using the 1310 designation may make getting the straps easier.

a Moog 280 Ujoint is a 1310 size joint, the strap kit you need is Spicer SPI-2-70-18X

Re: 72 c10 pinion yoke u joint strap?

Problem solved

It seems that my truck uses a u joint strap style that is common on 73 and later c10's. It's part number is 360-10.

I checked my 12 bolt rear. It has 12 bolts. Probably a coincidence.
Thank you all for help
