I’m looking for more info about the OEM Delco/Gm cb radios. As far as I’ve seen they were available from the early 70’s thru the mid 80’s, 86ish. I picked up a stand alone unit off eBay, that plugs into the radio harness and have it in my 86 C30 dually, but I’m unsure where they were mounted from the factory/dealer. If anyone has any photos of where their OEM cb “brainbox” is mounted, that would be awesome!
Added photos are the cb mic and “brain box” |

Re: Delco/gm OEM CB radio
The head unit is the OEM Cassette player. That’s the nice thing about this CB, it just ties in with the radio wiring harness and sends whatever you get for sound from the CB through the front 2 speakers.
I also attached pictures of the AM/FM/8 track/CB radio head unit I picked up from a Cadillac El Dorado for my 79 Oldsmobile Delta 88. |

Re: Delco/gm OEM CB radio
I have only seen these in Cadillacs, and they are usually mounted above the glove box. I think it makes it easier for antenna hook up.
