67 and 77 4x4 spring mounts

I've bought this 67 k10 shortbed that is mounted on a 77 4x4 chassis.
This does not work well because of the kick up in the frame causes issues.
I've got a clean 71 c20 frame that I am going to shorten and convert the front to leaf springs.
I bought a 77 4x4 Blazer, mainly for the axles. I am thinking about using the entire front suspension from the Blazer. Springs, sway bar, power steering, tie rods etc.
I see no reason why I can't use the spring mounts off the 77 and mount them to the 71 frame. Or should I get the correct mounts for the 71?
Other than the issue with the parking brake cable dimple in the frame, what could go wrong here?
Any suggestions?

As long as you have the correct brackets needed for the suspension & 4x4 driveline specific parts plus the correct dimensions for their placement on the 71 chassis, I think you'd be fine.

I would check frame width for both options where any bracketry goes to make sure things land where they're supposed to.

I know the core support dimensions are not the same.
Whoever assembled this truck used 5/16" all thread to mount the cs and they are on an angle. Since the front spring perches double as the core support mounts, I'll have to measure the stuff when I get it all torn down.

You cant tell by the pic, but the body is low in the front.
There are short, maybe 1" tall, body mounts at the back of the cab. The core support has 3" to 4" tall mounts in the front and it still needs to go higher.
I'm not using the squarebody chassis so it wont matter.

67-72's had the body/cab mounts outside of the rails @ the back of the cab. The 73-up frames had the cab mounts inside the rails from what I remember so I can see having a variance there.

The core supports through the various generations were all a little different, so the mounts were as well. I had to tweak the mounting location on them for my '64 because it's now on a '68 frame. I would guess you'll have to relocate where the later core-support frame mount needs to be for best fit (or utilize aftermarket core-support/front leaf hanger mounts intended for a 67-72 frame).

There are frame dimensions in the factory service manual and also in the factory assembly manual. Both are available free by searching.

I think that I am going to put the correct 71 spring perches on the frame and go from there.
Finding some decent, not so crusty, ones may be an issue.
But I'm looking.

You can buy fabricated front spring hangers from ORD that accept the factory springs and core support mounts on the 67-72’s. I have the front shackle mounts with the greaseble bushings and bolts. They are a nice beefy part but did require a little work to get them mounted. They don’t exactly go in the same holes as the original shackle mount did. It wasn’t a big deal, and if converting a 2wd you wouldn’t need to worry about it anyway. These parts are considerable more stout than the oe stuff. I will probably swap the front hangers to the ORD stuff in the future as I’ve already had to repair the main eye holes with thick welded on washers as the holes were severely wallered out.

Figured that this was a no brainer and placed an order.
