Re: 1958 Pontiac Wagon Build
I still have a lot of work ahead, but here is the hood mocked up.
BTW the GTO hood was junk so this was a rescue of GM parts. LOL! Last edited by 3drburb; 12-08-2025 at 06:43 PM. Reason: adding |

Re: 1958 Pontiac Wagon Build
Yes you did, and there will be a Firebird auto shifter in there as well.
I have 2, the red one is in better condition (will be recovered) but the other one has the bracket to attach it to the dash that I used for mock up

Re: 1958 Pontiac Wagon Build
rust repair continues
working on the passenger side rear door make a patch, cut out rust, weld and grind, and move on to the next. Maybe I should have made 1 large patch, but ended up with 3 small patches. Then wire wheeled the lower section. ....onto the next rusty area

Re: 1958 Pontiac Wagon Build
Looking good! I too will do smaller patches instead of one large one so the panel doesn't get too floppy and I weld it back together out of shape. Been there, done that!

Re: 1958 Pontiac Wagon Build
It's been rather slow on that project with winter here and having had to waste weeks trying to get the brakes working correctly on my Burban. And now I have a remodel the laundry room project to do as well as replacing the clutch I destroyed in my little Blazer. Oh well it's better than being bored.

Re: 1958 Pontiac Wagon Build
Thanks jaros, 1 piece at a time
I finished off the Passenger side seat mount and then sanded and cleaned the inside of the doors, the best I could, and sprayed in some Rust Reformer Coating that is supposed to convert the rust AND provide a protective coating. just trying to keep the project moving forward
