Sliding windows

I have a 1961 suburban with 4 sliding windows. I don't really like sliding windows and don't really want to pay $1200 to put new weather stripping in them. Is going from sliding windows to fixed windows as simple as finding fixed window frames and glass and switching them, or is there more involved? I don't want to modify the body of the suburban.

Re: Sliding windows

It's not difficult. The fixed windows don't have frames, just seals.

You can get the seals from Steele for front or rear. The rear solid glass is easy to find ( new or used). The front solid glass you would have to get it made locally.

Your sliders are worth a lot if they frames aren't rusted.
