Re: 2wd 1977 Blazer LS swap, mild drop….escalating
While I ruminate on the master and booster fitment issue, more front end parts were assembled and hoses are being test fit.

Lines are done and clamped with Notchhead clamps. My first use and I really like them!

Those clamps are cool! I'll have to check that out.

I was glad to have stumbled across them.
Right side fender is on.

Re: 2wd 1977 Blazer LS swap, mild drop….escalating
The master cylinder to hood clearance issue was resolved with a mounting bracket I had made by a local shop.

Found a fresh air intake that would work and will swap out the silver clamps for black ones.

Re: 2wd 1977 Blazer LS swap, mild drop….escalating
Brake lines are usually pretty simple and straightforward. In this case, I’ve struggled and done every way except the right way to make two lines to go from the master to the metering valve on the frame. Won’t bore everyone with all the details, except to say I’ve learned I can’t double flare stainless. And finally found the correct tube nuts for the 2018 Tahoe master cylinder.

Re: 2wd 1977 Blazer LS swap, mild drop….escalating
Wife was working on prepping the underside of the hood for paint and found cracks in the hood fold crease. You know, the system that activates by folding the hood to let you know the hinges are too sticky?
I drilled holes at either end of the crack, cleaned it out and welded it up.

Re: 2wd 1977 Blazer LS swap, mild drop….escalating
Garth is buttoned up and going to a friends shop for the LS and body wiring. He loves doing it, is way better and much more experienced than I, so this will help speed things along.
My grandsons pushed Garth out the big door and made it over by the fuel tanks. I thought he handled well…lol. |

VERY COOL!! I remember when I got mine "wired & fired" for the first time, it was a really satisfiying feeling to "jump" over that hurdle.. keep us posted! thank you for the time to post the build process.

This is the fun part. Very nice build and a ‘77 for that special touch.

Thanks Jim! Hope you are doing well! I don’t believe I mentioned the pedal mounting bracket I purchased from Hart Rod worked well. So much easier than making something and saved a lot of fabrication time. |
