from buckets to bench
I just bought a 1978 GMC C10 parts truck that has factory bucket seats and am putting this cab onto my 77 Chevy K10. Since the pass side bucket seat is missing it's rear brackets and the console is gone, I'm wanting to use my original bench seat in this cab. Do buckets and bench use the same bolt holes? Will the welded to the floor bucket seat brackets cause problems with the bench? Thanks!

Re: from buckets to bench
I checked the bucket seat cab today, and sure enough it's also drilled for the bench seat. I did buy the missing pass bucket seat brackets today, should have them next week. If they work, then I'll be staying with the buckets. I'll post the results next week.

Re: from buckets to bench
My CC dually is (was) a 3x3 so front & rear bench seats. I pulled the front bench for a set of buckets & console. I just had to add inner/tunnel side anchors.

Re: from buckets to bench
Yeah, crew cabs, blazers and burbs have a flat floor, fairly easy to find those seats and brackets. The pickups have a ledge behind the seats, those brackets are pickup specific. I just received the Ebay pickup seat brackets. Unfortunately, the were from a 73-77 square pickup that had factory low back seats, which evidently use a different rear bracket than the 78 Hi backs I have. I'm going back to my bench seat idea. Thanks for the replies!

Re: from buckets to bench
the front brackets in a crewcab are the same as a burb front seat. the rear seat brackets are the same as a single cab. the blazer is all its own deal. burb and crew still have the fuel tank humps in the front like a single cab.
