Anyone got a set of these horns on their vehicle

Don't know anything about decibles and the factory dual horns on my 72 are decently loud. I do not use my horn much but if I need to I'd like to leave an impression especially on some of our local jay walkers that like to give the middle finger salute after u almost run them over cause crossed 4 lines of traffic in front of you.

^ When I was still working, a trucker had a train horn on his semi. Driving the 405 fwy southbound through the San Fernando Valley, there's always some numbskull willing to defy death and cut over some lanes real fast to get on the 101 north. I heard that horn many times.

Re: Anyone got a set of these horns on their vehicle

I believe 110 dB sound level is legal limit for cars. The horn you sent is 112 dB and 2 of the Hella horns on the same page are 118 dB.

I found this basic definition of sound level measurement.

Decibels are different from other familiar scales of measurement. While many standard measuring devices, such as rulers, are linear, the decibel scale is logarithmic. This kind of scale better represents how changes in sound intensity actually feel to our ears. To understand this, think of a building that is 80 feet tall. If we build up another 10 feet, the building will be 12.5 percent taller, which would seem just slightly taller to us; this is a linear measurement. Using the logarithmic decibel scale, if a sound is 80 decibels, and we add another 10 decibels, the sound will be ten times more intense, and will seem about twice as loud to our ears.

I put a set of hi/low ''highway blaster'' horns on my '71 GMC Jimmy. Made by Hella, I think. Got 'em at Harbor Freight. I was surprised they were so cheap. Like $20. But that was a while ago. Not Chinese, Either made in Italy or USA. ICR.
Fiamma brand.

Have a set of refurbished Cadillac A, C, D, and F "train" horns to go into my truck. About 120db. If I recall. They were original optional equipment, so should be legal.

I have those horns. Honestly, I was not impressed. I thought they were going to be louder, but they were not. One of the factory horns on my truck died and I read about these. I'd look at other options.

The loudness of any horn is relative to how good (or bad) your hearing is....

This is from experience.

Re: Anyone got a set of these horns on their vehicle

I have Cadillac horns on two of my vehicles. My Yukon has the four-horn set and my Blazer has the two-horn set. Both are very loud. My grandchildren know them as the "stupid button", because grandpa uses it when people are stupid.

Re: Anyone got a set of these horns on their vehicle

I have the stock hi/lo horns on my truck, plus a set of 4 Caddy horns. I don’t know the codes on the caddy horns, but with all 6 blaring it sounds like a train horn. Don’t really care about legality, just wanted a loud horn, lol.

I scrolled through the reviews and most were good but the bad ones stated they didn't like the European car sound and they weren't as loud as expected.

Funny, I grafted in a Mercedes Benz horn from a junkyard into the circuit of my one-horn [C] on my '68 C/10 Stepside. Sounds mean -- a blues note from an irate Thelonious Monk. But due to a short in the steering column, it stays unplugged. I think it's the bearing ring having missing BBs. My Orange truck has no turn signals and no working horn.
To signal turns, I use Hand Signals. At night I have Orange/White construction Safety gloves with reflective strips. If somebody cuts me off, I can only make an Italian gesture with a Finger.
