My 1970 GMC “Project Splice”

Paint is done upstairs for now, there will be some touch ups and such that will have to happen but that will be right at the end. I am currently working on the tile floors in the bathrooms and laundry rooms. The wife and I also got the vanity for one of the bathrooms assembled and loosely sitting in place! Hoping that I can have my plumber come out and hook up a toilet soon

Looking good! You doing the floor tile yourself? I just did one of my small bathrooms - should have worn knee pads. In your bathroom with the double sink, what are the electrical boxes for above the sinks? It looks like there are two above each sink. Vanity lights and lit mirrors?

Thanks! I am doing the tile myself. First time doing more than a single tile replacement. I had knee pads and my knee were still horribly sore for a couple days. Those boxes are for heated mirrors so then don't fog up during a shower.

Oh gotcha. That makes sense. Thats a pretty neat idea. Yea - I have one more bathroom floor to tile. I will have to get some knee pads for that. The one I just did, I bought too dark of grout. I assumed it would dry a little lighter - i was wrong. Ended up using my multi tool with a carbide blade to remove it all - uffda that was painful. Luckily I have small bathrooms.

Are you keeping up with your schedule on everything? Still on time for your move in date?

Yikes, that doesn't sound sound fun. Picking a grout colour is difficult for sure.

I think I'm still on track. It will probably be tight but I should have some time off of work in the spring so that will help out

I have been picking away at my drywall on the main floor and I can say without a doubt that I cannot wait to be past this stage. The sanding is just awful! Hoping to have everything in the last coat of primer by the weekend and then I can move on to something much more fun...flooring! At least you can see your progress day to day and no sanding! Gotta say I prefer sanding my truck. When you sand bondo, the dust is USUALLY not falling directly into your eyes

Mudding a house seems like a never ending process. Its one of those tasks that alot of people just hire that part out. Pretty cool that you are doing it.
Are you laying down any texture before primer? When are you painting color??

I am not putting any texture down on any of it. Typically we do the ceilings here but it can be very difficult to patch if there is ever any sort of a damaged spot so I opted for a ton of extra work to go with smooth finish on everything. It has been the most exhausting portion of the whole build for me so far.

I'm hoping to be putting colour on the walls starting Monday evening.

Oh boy, that does sound exhausting. Gotta triple check the walls and ceilings with a spot light to make sure you got all the pinholes out. A little detective work haha.

Here are some pictures. Couple coats of paint on and started installing all the u-lay.
