I am slowly working on installing vintage air gen4 system. On the driver's side, the defrost duct hose adapter supplied doesn't seem to fit onto the bottom of the defroster duct vent. I've pushed and pushed, twisted, and they don't fit together.
Is there a trick or ideas to get these together? The defrost dash vent is the plastic chrome version from LMC I think. These seem like 2 different types of plastic and surfaces. If the adapter had a flexible silicone end (similar to those cold air intake fittings) it would go together easy. I contacted vintage air and mentioned this, and they were zero help, and never replied to my last message. They blamed my dash defroster vent. Thoughts? I found this thread on hose fitment, but not sure it applies in this situation https://www.67-72chevytrucks.com/vbo...d.php?t=566753

Re: install help? VintageAir Gen4 defrost duct adapter won't fit
Those vents are pretty cheap dollar wise. Maybe go on Amazon and buy another set to see if they fit. If not, you can always return them. I think I bought my black ones from there and painted them dash color. I had no problems getting the VA hose to fit.

Re: install help? VintageAir Gen4 defrost duct adapter won't fit
The diameter of the vent hose interface is 2 1/2" as measured on 3 different parts, used OEM, GM licensed reproduction, and NOS. When I installed VA the fit was tight but not difficult on NOS vents.

Re: install help? VintageAir Gen4 defrost duct adapter won't fit
Thanks for the info. I made it work. 3M double sided tape on the inside where it goes together and strong DUCT tape on the outside. It's been a while since I used that on any kind of actual DUCT haha!
