Re: Slow Progress is better than No Progress.
Well…I finally managed to squeeze in some time to install the rear hatch glass, and boy, that was more of a job than I thought it was supposed to be! I found that the body guy that restored the incredibly rotted hatch added a little extra to the pinch weld requiring me to (after taking careful measurements) grind a little off, opening the window hole just a touch…basically, making an even reveal all the way around. It was still a b*#%h to fit…but with the help of a friend, we were able to complete the task. I was still worried about the fit around the corners as something looked off, however, after putting the rubber lock bead in place (another PITA), everything pushed down and looked correct. Many thanks to Bryce (BAD1916) for the clean hatch glass he donated to me…it looks sooo much better than before!

That looks great! Did you have the tool for inserting the bead? I think it makes the job a lot easier. .

Thanks, Leon…I did have the tool and could not have done without it, however, I wish I had bought the exact one I saw in the YouTube video I watched. The one I got is made by Lisle and has 4 different sizes that come with it. Sounds great, but the metal feels very sharp for working with rubber, so I had to be extremely careful…and having to do it more than once in places caused me to panic a little. Woody |

I can imagine it would. Maybe a guy could dull down those edges a little. It wouldn't take much.
