Valve covers
I used to collect these things. Let the majority of them go ages ago. I was cleaning out the cupboard under my bench and found these. I knew I had some left but didnt think I had this many. Maybe "someday" Ill learn how to polish aluminum and shine them up. The Corvette covers, my favorite small block covers, are the old style with the staggered mounting holes. The ones on the upper right are 50's Cadillac covers, they should look nice cleaned up and painted.
Instead of tossing them back under my bench I think Ill find a place to hang all of them on the wall.

Re: Valve covers
CG, nice collection of valve covers in that pic. Curious, what are the two small covers for below the top right hand Caddy covers? I run SBC M/T aluminum covers on my '57 and stock factory metal covers on my '71 4x4.
Need to get a pic of the valve covers I'm running on my '71 Chevelle. Bought them off the dreaded EvilBay years ago for a fair amount of coin (s) but couldni't resist. Will post a pic tomorrow, maybe you might be familiar with them. Never have seen a second set thru the years. Stay tuned for further developments.

Re: Valve covers
Looking forward to seeing the mystery covers. I have a pair of stock 348/409 covers over at my brothers place I need to pick up.

Re: Valve covers
CG, pic of the cast aluminum valve cover currently on the '71 Chevelle. Bought them off Ebay as mentioned, have had them on there for a good many years. Have never seen another set, either on a SBC or a BBC. No stamping or casting numbers on the inner underneath side. Every time I go to a car show I'm always looking for another set, so far have come up empty handed with that idea. Also posting a pic of the '71 Chevelle they call home, lol.
CG, if you or anyone else checking in to this thread have some information on these valve covers it would be MUCH appreciated. Until I see another set somewhere I guess I'm still wondering.

Re: Valve covers
I have never seen those, really neat!
Board member Livrat (Mark) has a good collection of covers. Not sure if he checks in on the board anymore, he may have seen these before. Do you remember what was stamped/cast on the inside?

Re: Valve covers
CG, before I mounted them I gave them a good look see all over and could not find any logo, name, casting or part number anywhere. When I got them they had a black wrinkle finish I didn't care for the look of and had them powder coated the aluminum finish. Think they look much better that way.

Re: Valve covers
When someone open upped their hood in the high school parking lot and had some shiny aluminum valve covers, you knew they were serious. Aluminum valve covers added at least 25-50 hp, match that with 8.8 Accel spark plug wires.................fugitaboutit

Re: Valve covers
Heh, one of my friends had a '55 Chevy. He had a 265 SBC with a Duntov 30-30 cam and a WCFB Carter. It had the staggered valve cover bolt holes in the heads, and "Corvette" on the valve covers. If he popped the hood before a race, almost nobody would go up against him. Didn't even have headers!
