Heh, heh, heh....they "saved" the engine for a future rebuild, but still went 92MPH/15.3 (corrected) with a little "help" from the nitrous. Then, they found a '73 400cid to rebuild to get it into the 12's.
They're gonna have some kinda fun, huh? Just like we like 'em!!

They could probably get another half a second if they removed the weight of the tool box out of the back end.

The tool box is aluminum and hides the Nitrous

The guys at Hot Rod migrated over from Car Craft. David Freiburger and Matt King were former editors at Car Craft and now David is editor at Hot Rod and Matt King does articles. They are the real hands on type of guys. I suspect this is the reason we see this stuff in Hot Rod like it was in Car Craft.

Hot Rod has been overhauled, and it seems to be for the better. I had subscriptions 20 years ago for a while and recently re-subscribed due to the new format, new look, new feel and seemingly new attitude in the mag. Check it out if you've not picked one up for a while.

I agree, been reading Hot Rod for quite a while and the recent makeover is outstanding. BTW, have you seen the new 69 Camaro full steel bodies coming available? And others on the way. Besides these trucks, my next favorite car is the 69 Mustang Mach 1, I just love the style.
Back to the topic, I was wondering why they didn't put some good slicks on the drag truck? Seems they could have got a half second or more from that alone. HG

I knew freburger (who is a car mag god) and king were over there...also the dude who answers the tech letters, the goofy lookin guy with big ears...he's over there too.
However, every time I read one I am pretty dissapointed. Maybe I should try reading it again. I have been pretty bummed about car craft since the new ed took over. Never cared for him when he was in that chevy mag (can't remember which one) but he just seems lame to me, and since smith took over, there's been a whole bunch of fuel injected articles. |

i let my hot rod subscription run out about a year or so ago because all that was in there was crap. it's only like 10 bucks a year, but i'm not paying them 10 bucks a year to fill my mailbox with garbage.
