Kick down on 79 454/TH400 Suburban

Hey Guys,

Have a quick question on the kickdown of a 454/TH400 79 Burb.

Is the kickdown electric under the gas pedal or is it from the cable on the carb?

Thanks

Stacey

what do you mean by kickdown? the throttle linkage is a cable from gas pedal to the throttle stuff on the right side of the carb (the throttle body underneath the airhorn and main body). if you mean when you gun it to kick it down then the switch from high idle to regular idle when it warms up is connected from the high idle cam (in the carb) to the choke linkage (that little rod to the left of the choke plate held with the screw)
