The front axle will go right in. If the rear axle is from a 3/4 ton you will need to move the spring perches and the shock mounts. If it is from a 1 ton - it will go right in.
If they are the cast spring perches, have fun getting the off, I had a buddy with a plasma cutter remove mine, grinding just wasn't getting it done. You will also need a conversion U-joint to connect your driveshaft to the rear axle. Beast388 can give you the correct part number. I can't tell you whether you have to lengthen or shorten the driveshaft - I should know if a few days though as I am doing this to my K5 presently.

Welcome to the board! Looks like a nice father/son project. The NP-205 sounds like it's original, I had a 71 GMC shortbed 4X4 that had a 205. The 4 speed also sounds original. That 205/sm combo is almost bullet proof. Just make sure the axels from the donor truck are the same ratio. PS: can you adopt me? I have my own project already, LOL

Yukon Jack,
Thanks for the info.....I'm pretty happy that the front will go. The donor is a 3/4 ton.....I'll make that decision later!!!! Are brake parts readily available for the Eaton?!?!?! They sure look like they're bulletproof!!!! I know my 69 had 4.56 gears......maybe I'll luck out and they are 4.10... dtlilly, We could probably fit ya in after the 12 year old.......I should be well practiced by then!!!!! Heaven knows my wife can't be without kids!!!!! Take care, Misled |

Re: Hey, if you.......
No tellin. Last year we didn't have one, we need someone to have a place suitable for it, and willing to host. Not a short order.
