Aftermarket exhaust system

Is there anybody out there who makes a good flowing, mandrel bent, bolt on system for the 73-81' trucks. I am tired of paying good money for "muffler shop" craftsmanship and non-mandrel bends. I have had good luck with walker/dynomax. I have seen a couple of good dyno articles and muffler shootouts where their $50-$60 mufflers have out performed alot of more expensive and popular mufflers. Thanks

That system is nice but it doesn't work well at all on my truck. Unless you have someone fabricate it to make it fit it is very near draging on the ground it. The tail pipes are made with way to much of a hump to fit over the axle. The x pipe has to be placed to far back in the system catalytic convertors just make it that much farther back. It interferes with the drive shaft unloaded let alone hauling something with weight to it. Mufflers sound nice though and the pipe looks good. But it is very very lacking in the fitment part you have to do way to much work to get it even half way decent. I couldn't get my system any higher that the height of the headers at best and in the rear that is just way to low and isn't functional. At any rate I had to have my exhaust redone and already out the money that was supposed to be a nice system made for 73-87 gm trucks. I went by the paper that came with it and was done the best that could have been done without the help of an exhaust shop.

My system is not bad at all. It can't be seen from the side of the truck as it tucks up behind the frame. It is a very long way from dragging the ground. As for the bend over the axle, it is just about perfect.

These pics are with my camera sitting on the ground.
