suspension tech questions
Hi all. I have a few questions, I am doing a 1985 3/4 ton long bed 2wd chevy. It has a built (intake manifold, carb, roller rockers, polished and ported heads, dome top pistons, balanced rotating assembly ) 1970 402 big block, th400, and deluxe interior. Problem is I know squat about suspension (except 4x4s, also have a 76 blazer w/ 35's, onboard air, warn winch and bumper, deep water forging kit, ) i know from other threads that a spring under is good for a decent drop, but is the 5-6 inches quoted for a 1/2 ton, or all. Does anyone know how much drop a spring under would net on a 3/4 ton? Also the front of a 4x4 uses reverse arched springs, has anybody used those to do a drop? How well would that work? Any input would be great.
1985 3/4 ton long bed, built 402, th400, delux interior, 410 geared gm 14 bolt rear end, plans: lower, paint, posi rear carrier unit, |

if you arent real concerned with keeping the 3/4 ton capacity, take a few leaves out and do your flip... it will give you a drop, and softer ride.. it depends on the side of the spring pack as to how much drop you are gonna get. a thicker spring pack will give you more drop.. just because your truck sits higher.
