I'm no F**d fan, but it's good to see a Mustang once again look like a Mustang. The nostalgia craze over muscle car designs seems to be picking up steam, and I think it's great that we can once again identify with the classic 60's and 70's designs. I hope other manufacturers (i.e., GM, Chrysler) pick up on this and keep pace with the new 'stang. I agree that the new GTO is a disappointment, so why don't we see new muscle cars that reflect what we really want? ... jmho.

I like 'em too but that nose looks too short seems like it oughta be just a couple inches longer to really get the look going.
That said I want one to but no way am I buying a new one, Mustangs depreciate too fast, I'll buy one in 2 years |

From fordmuscle.com -------> Preliminary dyno and track testing for media sources are indicating the 5 speed automatic GT as putting down 267 rear wheel horsepower and 280 ft-lbs of torque. The same media test vehicle ran 13.6@100mph on factory radials and the stock 3.33:1 differential ratio. The 5-speed should near the 280 horsepower mark at the wheels and with sticky tires and gears high 12 second ET's would be easily attained. They look nice but performance still sucks. (Keep in mind my daily driver is a Roush GT). 267rwhp is pathetic these days, especially for a performance car. The stupid looking GTO is at 350 with the 6 speed. The LS1's been pushing 300 at the wheels since '98. And now with the 6.0 aluminum blocks in the new 'Vette by the time the next Camaro comes out will be pushing over 400rwhp. The 4.6 sucks and needs to go. Modern technology is great but with a engine that has only 281 ci and not designed to rev quickly (which is what they should of done with their new modular engine overhead cam tecnology) you sort of loose before you start. You have to have a power adder to be competitive and then your MAYBE equal with a good head/cammed LS1.

The mustang has a little more room in the front compared to last years car.My Wife works for a ford dealer. The first new stang came in 2 weeks ago.My cousin and I went in to drive it.It needs wider tires and lowered 2"to make it look better. The window sticker was 27,700.They had 10 '03s.the price on the '03 is down to 20,500.
The pontiac dealer next door has a bunch of GTO's still setting around. Not selling to well.

The biggest problem I have with the vette, other than the 50k+ price,[The local GM dealer is selling them 5k over window!!!]is the new viper looking front.Put another 25k into the Mustang and see what You get.Of course than you still have a ford!

Thanks for the pics Randy. The more that I look at them the more I want one. Must get through to the wife somehow.
As far as it being modeled after the 67, it may be, but when you look at the front end it just screams Mach I. Don't you think?

I really love that retro camaro. Is that just a concept car or is it in the works for a later release.
Vette's are definately a fast car but it just looks like a bubble on wheels. I'm not too fond of all those curves. My step father has a 78 vette pace car. No that is a car and it hauls some serious ass.

Wow, this thread isn't getting the old To-The-Top. Did I do something wrong here? Is talking about a Ford product not allowed? I usually don't unless I have something bad to say about Ford but I had to point out haw sweet the new stangs are. Sorry if I did something wrong here but it is completely innocent.

Oh, I see, the thread was moved. Now all I have to do is figure out where. No biggy.
Ahhh, General Discussion. That makes sense. Sorry Josh.

exactly, the vette looks the way it does cus its alot more aerodynamic. to me looks are secondary anyway and performance is whats more important.

Yeah but looks aren't illegal, speeding is. It still baffles me why they build cars to break the speed of sound when you just aren't supposed to do it. don't get me wrong I love performance but I have to go with looks first and the Mustang has the vette beat hands down in my opinion.

I like the front of this new mustang, but I hate the back.
I saw a picture of the new (2005?) Dodge Dakota with 5.7L Hemi. Not sure exactly what they are calling it, but it is similar looking to the Chevy SSR. Anyone have a picture of this new Dodge? I love the new vette. The exterior and interior changed are a major improvement. I didnt even think it needed a change, but I am happy with what they came up with. That camaro concept pic looks sweet, I wish they would build it.
