Kilo speedos

I posted a pic of a kilo speedo in a 1970 C20 from Sweden before.
Today I was and looked at another 1970 C10 and it also had a kilo speedo but I donÂīt think it is a correct truck speedo, it looks different anyway.
First pic is from the C20 with "real" kilo speedo, the second pic is from the C10.
The second pic is bad but it goes up to 200 kph.

Interesting, it looks like the numbers arent printed on the lense but they are on the speedo instead. If you ever find a spare let me know.

Kind of looks like a speedo head off a 73 and newer with the numbers on the gauge.

DAMN, I WOULD LIKE ONE TO, JUST CHANGE THE PRINT TO MPH AND GET
IT ADJUSTED / CALIBRATED, INSTANT 160 SPEEDO FOR YOUR TRUCK.

That is exactly why I asked him to keep an eye out for me. All I want is the lens.
Something I noticed, the speedo head it's self is probably the exact same as our MPH ones...the 100KPH is in the exact same location as the 60MPH is.

I will keep on searching and I will let you know if I find some.
I have asked a couple of GM parts dealers in Sweden, I have the partnumber (6458265 for the kilo lens) that I got from Gee Emm but the parts dealers said it had been discontinued a long time ago.

Metric product labeling didn't begin in earnest until 1975 so not likely to find one in the Great White North, eh.

Cool

That would be incorrect as my 69 Camaro's exported had KPH speedo's in those. It is a very probable option! I just havent seen any on a Chevrolet Truck until this message board submission! Let me propse this post topic to another group and see what I get back!

The Canadian Weights and Measures Act wasn't passed until 1972... so GM was being proactive? I guess so.

Cool

Got my KIWI friend here, was 15 in 1968 and he recalls back then down under that some may have had both but earlier cars than 1968 were MPH. He had a 1966 Cooper S that was MPH. So possibly around 1972-ish KPH were instilled with KPH. He also has a 1972 Holden Monaro had KPH...so I think some discussion/research on this idea is necessary...

Cool

On the 1st pic image posted here you can see the 2nd dash panel having no KPH nor MPH on the lens, BUT!: if you look closely, you can see that the silkscreening is there on the gas gauge side of the lens. I suggest that the speedo is incorrect in this pic image and possibly the MPH images silkscreened on were removed with something then having the lens cleaned up in that area...
