Taiwanese fender fitment issues!
Hey all. I'm in the process of getting the front half of my green GMC all metalworked so I can move it out of the garage for the winter. I could not find a passenger side 67 fender locally to save my life. I got talked into an aftermarket one... The finish is great & all that BUT as you all know, the fit requires a bit of massaging. I had to trim a bit of the inner supports & I bought one of those "Orange County" stepped drillbits & went nuts. It fit the truck good then but i couldnt get the wheel tub to fit. the holes wouldnt line up because the radius of the fender is smaller than the radius of the wheel tub. After getting really mad & walking away from it for a weelk I had a vision! I took the hammer & banged all the tabs in a 1/4" & the wheel tub fit, hence I increased the radius of the fender to match the tub. the contour of the fender is a little out in relation to the hood but uberalles I'd reccomend this brand of taiwanese fenders (i think it says goodridge or something - not goodmark).
