Alt ground connection

Hey guys:
As some of you know, I am switching my old external alt to newer CS one. Today I started the project and I noticed that my old alt has a ground connection. On my reading and previous board members writing to me, I didn't find anything about ground connection on new CS alt. Am I suppose to keep the ground connection? If yes, would you point out to me where is gona be connected (to the alt)? I can send a pic of the alt if necessary. Thanks for help. Nima
