Talking How to install rear springs?

In a couple more sessions, my front suspension rebuild will be completed.

Once I remove the rear springs to replace with my 3 inch lower springs, how can I install the new springs?- Other than a spring compressor?

Could I set my old six cylinder over the rear end to compress the suspension so I can install the shorter springs?

Any ideas appreciated.
