radiator info
Yesterday I was amazed to learn that a radiator from a 91 Lumina APV van is almost a direct bolt in to our trucks!!!!......The bottom mount on the truck fits just on the outside of the mount spot on the radiator, so it can't move from side to side, the right top mount lines up perfectly, and the left one sits just inside the top mount on the radiator frame...
The are 1/2" narrower, and 1/2" taller than the factory, and are a 3 core radiator...The electric fan fits between the radiator and the support on the bottom, the top of the radiator frame must be drilled and spacers added to make the top of the fan secure. The tranny coolers(the lumina has 2) are on each side of the radiator, and the lines run across the radiator, so the factory cooler lines must be lengthened with some fuel hose. I just thought I'd let everyone know in case someone needs a good radiator and don't have alot of money.....I bought the van for $150. Also, the necks on the radiator are alot smaller than the necks on the truck radiator, so I just used short pieces of the radiator hoses from the van, slipped them over the necks, and then slipped my trucks hoses over top of them, they fit tight, but will go if you get them wet with some anti-freeze. I hope they hold after I warm the truck up, they look like they will work just fine.
