A Little Help Please
I acquired some pretty good parts from a 67'-68' GMC my grandparents scrapped and need a little help with what I have. The truck was a V6 automatic LWB. So I took the coulmn, linkage, tranny crossmember, driveshaft, and the tranny. Since I'm not too familiar with this engine setup, I was wondering what tranny this could be (TH350 or TH400)? I have compared it with a TH350 my brother-in-law has and it doesn't look like one. I haven't seen many TH400's so I don't really know if it is infact a TH400. Does anyone have a way to tell what tranny it is?
The tranny crossmember was bolted in place, and the tranny mount holes in the middle of it were enlarged with a cutting tourch. So I'm sure the tranny has been out of it sometime in the past and rebuilt or possibly replaced. I want to have it rebuilt so I can use it in my truck but I want to make sure of what I have.
