starter problems

15

I have a 1972 GMC 1500 custom. I have replaced the starter on it about 15 times in a year. The problem isnt the fly wheel, I just put a new one on. The problem is that when you put the starter on it doesnt line up with the fly wheel right. I shim it to fit perfectly, but a week later it is grinding on the fly wheel. if anyone can tell me what to do to fix this I would appricate it.
