Brake system ???
Well, about 3 months ago my wife put power steering fluid in my master cylinder (she THOUGHT it was brake fluid... ) Anyway, I tried to suck it out with a turkey baster and replaced the fluid in the master cylinder as soon as I found out she did this (2 days later)
This weekend I drove for awhile and I noticed it felt like the parking brake was slightly on. I stopped at a store and my drivers side rear brake was smoking. I figured I had a leak in the wheel cylinder and let it cool, then limped it home. I tore into it and everthing looked good, so I bought a new wheel cylinder and put it on. Then I pulled the master cylinder to refill with new fluid and when I went to bench bleed it, I couldn't force the plunger. I used a hammer to give it a love tap and it moved but didn't return back. I bought a new master cylinder to put on, but I started thinking I should remove all the old brake fluid so I disconnected the rear lines and the rear line at the proportioning valve and THOUGHT I would be able to use compressed air to force the old fluid out. Nope, some came out but not as much as I would have thought. So, how do I get the old fluid out? Do I put the new master on and force the fluid out with the new fluid? Rg
