81-87 cab w/ 73-80 front clip - wipers?

So, i'm getting things wrapped up w/ my '75 stepside and ran into a problem w/ the wipers. i used the linkage that came w/ my '84 cab, but when i went to close the hood to call it a day - good thing i didn't slam it, the wiper mounts, where the wipers snap onto hit the bottom of the hood!?!?!

so, i took out the '84 wiper assemblies and then checked out in my old '75 and found that the '75 wiper assembly is considerably lower - is this a bolt up solution - bolting up the '75 assembly to the '84 cab??? how did you fix this issue?
