leak between trans & T-case

so, there seems to be a leak from the trans to the t-case, at least that's what i would assume since the t-case was so full of trans fluid it was pouring out the rear output. so i replaced the rear output seal on the t-case and drained it to regular fill mark. my dad thinks trans fluid is ok for the 205. i thought it was supposed to be gear oil.

anyway, now to my question. i read the thread at the bottom of the page about finding np205 oil seals. is there not a seal at the rear of the trans (t250)? is there only a seal between the adapter and the t-case? guess i just need to know what i'm looking at replacing.
