any ideas for my project?
Hi, some years ago I inherited this truck. It has bin left rusting in a garage for 10 years before I got it, and now I have started restoring it.
I think it has a 12 bolt positraction rear end and the transmission is a 4 speed on the floor with hi and lo. The engin was an L-6 292, I think, but I have bought a trimmed 350 with about 12:1 compressionratio and 320Hp. It looks like it fitts well on the old transmission (if I use the old starter), but the pice that the right rubber mounting should fit on to against the frame does not seem fit. Also the rode-linkage from the clutch too the pedal doesn't fit. Is this parts easy to get in the states? And does anyone know if there is more parts I need to replace (for fitting the new engine)? The information I have says this is a 68 GMC Truck 910, but the part-dealers can't find the model in any of their catalogues. Does anyone know which Chevrolet this truck is similar to? I think the dealers has parts for most Chevrolets. I don't have a lot of experience in fixing trucks, so my God I was happy when I discovered this board. I have alreaddy learned a lot. Thank you guys. Here are some pics of it as it was when I got it up here in the north of norway. And the pictures ar not taken at night. ------------------ Restoring a GMC Truck 910 Have a GMC CCKW 6x6 from 43 Looking for a nice old 4x4 Blazer
