'79 Scottsdale Cab
Hi folks! I'm from S.W. Ontario- the land of road salt and rusted vehicles. I have a '79 Chev Scottsdale 3/4 ton with full-time 4x4. (click on my username to see a pic) The truck runs and drives perfect but the body is shot!! (again) I have found and purchased a perfect box, but still need to replace the cab. (yes, the whole cab is shot...I have been patching it for a while now, but I am now patching onto patches!! lol)
I have heard from a couple of people that you can take an '81-87 cab, remove the vent cowling in front of the windshield and use them on a '73-80 truck. Is there any truth to this? How much extra work is it? If it is easy, it would make it much easier to find a cab for the '79!! Also, how much work is involved to change a 2WD cab to fit a 4WD truck? Any help would be appreciated. Thanks, FD Last edited by Farmall Doctor; 10-11-2005 at 06:10 PM. |
