Is there one intake manifold above them all?

I'm hopefully gonna put Vortech heads(pre-drilled for use with 86 and earlier style manifolds) and might look into a new manifold. Are they all the same, or are some better than others? This will be a daily driver, but as much power as possible is what I'm looking for. I already have an Edlebrock performer intake, but it's about 5 years old and pretty well crusted up in the coolant passages. If there's no real difference, then I might just clean this one up, but then again I think weiands are only like $90...
