Which rearend will work?

Since the rearend has gone out (gears and case damaged) on my truck I will need to replace it. I have a five lug rearend (not original?) in my 70 Stepside which I plan to replace with a used rearend with 3:73 gears. I want to stay five lug so I can use the same wheels. I also plan on finding a complete rearend from wheel to wheel. What year vehicles have rearends that can bolt onto my truck? For instance would the rearend from a 78 Chevy truck work? Will a car rearend bolt up? It would really help to know what will work. I know many of you have already been through this. Please help so I can get my truck back on the road. Thanks
