Gauge cluster help needed

I guy that sells products to our shop just got done restoring a '72 k10 longbed. It used to have lights and he switched it over to gauges. Ever since he got it put back together the temp gauge and the fuel gauge don't work. He does have a gauge harness installed in the truck. He has asked me to take a look at it, have any of you guys ever ran into this or am I going to end up chasing wires?
By the way, I'll take some pics of it to post, it is SWEET!
