power steering bracket question

i have a 71 with crate motor with header and long water pump. i used all the brackets and pulleys off a 77. i do not like the way the PS bracket bolts to the head. i had to use a wide spacer to accomadate how the bracket is designed (see pictures) Is this a normal stock setup with the stock manifolds? I will be getting new ceramic headers, Im looking for alittle cleaner looking set up for this bracket. thanks
