67 stepside fender filler and blazer tank INSTALLED!
I bought a cheap welder a few days ago and I figured I should put it to good use this weekend, AND since my window regulators didn't come in this weekend like they were supposed to, I decided to install my blazer tank and fuel filler door off of a '96 silverado (I think S-10 doors are the same).
I laid out where I wanted my filler door to go and trimmed it out. I used as much metal as possible from the donor truck, because you will see in the pics my fender has a lot of dent damage. I then made a cardboard template and marked out on the fender where to cut. Don't forget to measure twice!!! I then drilled holes in the corners and used an air cut off wheel to cut the door hole out. I then welded the new door in. This was my very first attemt at using a mig welder, so please excuse the really crappy looking welds.
