Question 350?

I have to plead ignorence. I recently purchased a 1980 4x4, 1/2 ton running parts truck, that someone has converted from an automatic to a standard. My question is; in my 75, with a 350, there is a boss on the right head behind the alternator with the serial number, plus the exhaust manifolds go over the plugs, with the plug wires running under the manifolds. In the parts truck, there is no boss on the head behind the alternator, and the exhaust manifolds run under the plugs, against the block, while the plug wires run over the valve covers. I'm sure this is still a 350, just newer? Thanks!
