torque converter question?

Ok, I have a Bowtie OD 700R4 tranny and new engine. Bowtie says to unbolt an d push back the converter all the way into the tranny to break in new engine - before continuing with tranny setup. i've done that, trying to start the engine. Took a break, look at the converter and it looks like a conical bushing fell out of teh front of the torque converter? Is there a bushing on the front of the torque converter? I can't get the TQ to pull up to the flexplate. I am going to be seriously PO'ed if I have to pull this tranny out!!!

This has been a nightmare so far as it is....
