And so it begins...

I just picked up my very first project vehicle, a '70 swb fleetside courtesy of Djracer and I figured the best place for me to start is at the bottom. I hope to have the chassis on jackstands and ready to be worked on this weekend. How should I go about cleaning, de-rusting and painting the frame and rear end? I did a cursory search in a few forums but found nothing definitive. Hartrod has already dropped some knowledge and some nice parts on me but I need more, more i tell you MORE! Any advice on procedures, brands or tool selection would be most helpful. Up until the wife and I moved a year ago I have not had a garage so my selection of tools is almost nonexistant but with your guidance that will change. Thanks in advance!
