shaving gas filler

hey guys, I just got this crazy idea the other day...
instead of shaving the door filler hole on the cab and relocating it with a blazer tank and all that... what about custom making a flip-open lid in place of the filler neck hole, and cutting the filler neck on the tank down so you could put the cap on it, and flip the lid down over that, so it'll still be there, but not sticking out. On top of doing all that, you'd have to seal it from the inside of the cab, for fumes, but I don't think that would be too hard.

Has anyone ever seen something like this done? If so, how was it done I wonder.
