coil spring question

First question: What is the trick to installing window regulators? When I removed them from the parts truck(72) I just bent the window track out of the way, but I don't want to do that on my good truck(70).

Second question: I'm doing the 88-98 front spindles, rotors, calipers, with the 3/4T lower A-arms(72) swap. Eventually I will install drop spindles, but for now I would like to cut the front coils. I have one set each of stock 3/4T and 1/2T front coils. I'm thinking maybe using the 3/4T now, so I'd have the 1/2T springs for when I install the drop spindles. How much should I cut and how will she ride? I measured the springs, same height, same number of coils, the 3/4T are .040 bigger diameter. I have bags in the rear and this is all on a 70 swb w/67 front clip, daily driver. Thanks.
