87 GMC Wrangler rebuild

Hello truck builders.I am new here so I would like to pass on some info about my truck project. I picked up an 87 GMC Wrangler in 04 and finally have time to start a re-build. This model was only available in Canada as far as I can find out. The hood emblem has a W in it instead of the GMC or bowtie emblem and Wrangler script emblem's on the front fenders and dash. The rpo codes show it as a heavy half-ton with larger rear brakes and HD auto trans coupled with a 305 FI. Since I live in the rust belt (South Western Ontario) rust removal and prevention are my main concerns. I am replacing the drive train with a early 454 out of my 77 1 ton (RIP) and muncie 4 speed (fine spline) coupled with a 9 inch ford rear axle.Lots of parts left over from years of racing late model stocks at local level. I'll try and post some pics and keep updates on 73-87 forum...
