Help on identifying engine.

Ok I may have been duped. The old man I bought the burb from told me it had the original engine. I am adding a pic below because everything looks correct to me. I went to autozone to get stuff for a tuneup. The plugs and plug wires I got for a 1971 Suburban 350 would not work on my engine. So I went back and he got me plugs and plug wires for a 75ish 350 block. These worked. So I am feeling a little disapointed now.

Can someone tell me where the engine would be stamped or any other ways to identify if this is indeed the original engine, or if the autozone guy is right?

Any help would be much appreciated. Thanks.
