Ever strip an 87 SWB Silverado ?

I think I am going to buy a totaled 87 Red/Red Short bed tomorrow . I dont think it would be wise to try to repair it since it needs everything and a cab . I thought about putting the dual tanks , rebuilt 350/th700 combo in my 77 . Is it a pretty easy swap since I would have a complete running 87 to use for parts . I figure that it would probably be wise to use the inside and outside wiring harnesses . How many of you have done this ? Frank
