Bringing another one home
Hi All, been hangin around but haven't posted in awhile. Some of you might remember when I drove my 72 Burb from Ca. to Pa. when I moved two years ago. I lost a camshaft 400 miles into the trip (flagstaff Arizona) met some cool people there that got me on the road again. Well the 72 is in the paint shop, and I was looking for some patch panels on oldride.com when I saw a blue 72 GMC burb for sale. It looked familiar, two years ago while driving my green 72 Burb to Home Depot in Corona Ca. I spotted a blue one across the parking lot. We drove toward eachother, parked and introduced ourselves. Really cool guy and a nicely restored GMC. I would have liked to hang out with this guy but I was prepping for my move east. So I call the owner of the GMC on oldride and sure enough it's him, he's got too many projects and has to sell some. I'm selling off a couple to make this happen, a chrysler and a harley, don't worry, keeping the Chev's. So I'm heading to Ca. on the 5th of April to hang with the family, buy the GMC and make the drive once again. My neighbor, the paint shop owner that's working on the other, is flying down to make the trip with me. The GMC has 10.000 miles on her since the restore in1996, 4-bolt 350 700r4 with 4.11's , 3/4 ton military surplus axle's. Should make the trip just fine. I just opened a photobucket account to share pics, so they're on the way.
