Steady/Carrier bearing
I am in the process of replacing my carrier bearing on my 2 piece driveshaft on my 69 GMC 1/2 ton longbox.
THe installation instructions say "The chamber under the shield should be packed with water resestatnt grease to seal out all foreign matter to prolong the life of the bearing.", have you done this? What exactly are they referring to? Just pump grease in around the rubber, under the metal bracket?
