3 on the tree shifting problem
Shifting is difficult on my 3 speed 6 cylinder. Sometimes a load ratcheting sound is heard when it pops out of gear. The bushings on the tranny end of the linkages were replaced but no improvement. Now I am told the bushings at the steering column end (where the shift 2 linkages connect to the 2 little arms on the steering column) probably are shot. I am told that one can use 1/2 inch door hinge bushings in the shift linkage.
Does anyone know anything about this? thanks Mark 1970 C10 |
