New to the truck scene.

I'm Jason, from Medford, Or. My cousin, and uncle have had a few 67-72 pickups, and I've always wanted one.

I was at school 2 weeks ago, surfing craigslist, and came across the very first ad, "1968 GMC pickup $500"... Well crap, I click on it, and see what looks to me a seemingly straight rust free 68 GMC 2wd pickup... So I go out in the hall and call the phone number. The guy says he's leaving for work in about 30 minutes, but if I hurry I can see it. So I tell the teacher I'm leaving, I'll see him tuesday, and head to the guys house which just happend to be down the street from the school...

Got there, checked it out. The guy says it's an original 300hp 327, but now that I've torn into it, I highly doubt it. It's got 70cc heads, and dished pistons, but the numbers say it is a 327... 300hp? It originally had a 3 on the tree, but someone replaced that with a 4 on the floor. I doubt it. It's super straight, and in pretty decent condition, so I give the man $450, and tow it home a couple days later.

Got it home, got it to run, and it had some flat cam lobes. So I put a new cam & lifter set in it, new water pump, got some 64cc camel hump heads, a performer intake, and Performer manifold for it. I'm currently in the process of putting the previously mentioned parts on it.

I'm not new to old cars, I have had a 71 Chevelle, that I tricked out over a 7 year period, and now have a 68 Chevelle that I'm working on. The goal for this truck is to have a sharp looking, dependable daily driver!

How's it run? I don't know yet! Long story...
