Talking 65 LWB No Spark

Hey, I'm new to the forum here, and I got the wonderful oppourtunity to purchase a nice ol' 65 LWB. I've always wanted one, and I finally found one. 292 L6 and a classic 3 on the tree. Anyways, the guy I am buying it from, he bought it from a farmer (you know how rough they are on stuff), brought it home, fixxed her up a bit, and drove her for about 6 months. He then pulled the motor out to do some cleaning and put it a new clutch assembly. When he put it back in, it decided that it was no longer going to start.

I went over to make my down payment, and to look at it in general, and he had everything connected correctly. He did mention that ALL of the wires leading to the ignition switch in the dash were red in color. So he (and I) assume that someone (the farmer) was in there at one point, and decided to "fix" a few things. Anyways, now he says there isnt any spark, I havent actually checked for spark yet.

It is getting fuel to the carb though, I can smell it, and the engine cranks over, and *almost* acts like it wants to fire, but it just wont do it. It is my suspicion that it has something to do with the distributor and ignition timing, or, the red wire array in the dash. I know there is supposed to be 2 12volt wires going to the switch, and I cant say right now if there is.

Any help with this little bit o' info would be a great help, I really wanna drive her home!
