Fuel Tank Location.
I spoke with a guy that just replaced his fuel tank in his 68 GMC. His old one was full of trash. He replaced the sending unit at the same time. Once he was finished he noticed that the fuel/oil smell was gone from his truck. Possibly from the new sending unit gasket. He also mentioned that the fuel tank was only a 15 gallon tank. (I thought they were 20 gallon units.) We spoke about the tank being moved to the rear of the truck, but he wasn't willing to cut the hole in the fender.
My question or multiple questions are: What are my options for the fuel filler hose? Other than the fender. My tank has a lot of trash in it too. I stuck a new inline filter in the system and thought I would change it out a few times for a few months. Would it be wise to replace the tank? I this is more of a novelty set up, but has anyone ever installed a tank under the bed, and also kept the tank behind the seat for a dual tank set up? Keith |
