Fuel Gauge ?

I have an aftermarket harness in my truck and was wondering if the factory fuel gauge sees 12 volts constant (with ign. in "on" position).

Are the 2 connections on the back of the gauge simply "hot" and "ground"?

So the basic wiring for this would be the wire from the sending unit to the gauge. The sending unit is grounded to the chassis (using fuel cell from "fuelcellguy"). The gauge gets a ground and do you just tap into run from the sending unit to the gauge with a 12 volt source?

Hope this all makes sense.....I'm not the brightest electrical guru!

I did do a search and read some of the "how too" links, etc... but couldn't find exactly what I was looking for.
